Independent Studio Services (ISS) is the most flexible full service prop house in the world and we will continue to change as the industry does. Since 1977, we have met the prop needs of films, television, theater, commercials, video, corporate clients and more.
ISS began when founder Gregg Bilson, Sr., started renting props, first from his house, then from an old Lockheed hangar. The company soon thrived and Bilson moved into the Sun Valley, CA, prophouse that was home to ISS for 26 years. In 2003, all ISS operations were combined and moved to our current, expanded facility on Wentworth Street in Sunland.
ISS is proud to be part of an ever-growing worldwide entertainment industry. Our vast inventory, range of services and in-house expertise set us apart. But the quality of people here at ISS have made us truly a family business serving many longtime customers.
If you have any questions or comments, please call or e-mail Gregg Bilson, Jr.

NEW ACCOUNTS
Anne Chadburn PHONE: 818-951-5600 FAX: 818-951-2850 anne@issprops.com
You may open an account with us by completing a credit application. If you are a new customer, call ahead (818-951-5600, ask for Anne Chadburn). We will fax you an application form, or you can download one. Accounts can be set up as C.O.D. or, if your company qualifies, Net 30. The process for being approved as a Net 30/P.O. account takes 5-7 business days, so be sure to plan ahead. For a complete listing of required paperwork for becoming an ISS customer, please see our New Accounts page.
All new accounts also require a Certificate of Insurance, listing Independent Studio Services as "Additional Insured" and "Loss Payee". Your "cert" can be faxed over to ATTN: Anne Chadburn (818-951-2850). Make sure it lists your deductible amount (this will almost always be your deposit amount).
RENTAL POLICIES
Once your project and paperwork is set up with our accounting department, you may finalize your rental. We rent most props on a weekly basis. A one-week rental period is seven calendar days. For example, you can rent on Wednesday and return on the following Wednesday. We also offer a discounted 3-day rental at 40% off of the regular weekly rental rate. A $500 minimum applies to the 3-day rental.
RATES* -- first week full price -- second week half price -- third week half price -- fourth week free
Rental prices are generally about 10-20% of our valuation of the item. For example, an item valued at $100 usually rents for $10-$20 for the first week. Our valuation is not negotiable. If you disagree with our valuation, you are free to choose another item.
*Multiple week discounts do not apply to any machine gun rentals from Weapons Dept.
PAYMENT/SECURITY DEPOSIT We accept payment for rentals in cash, company checks, VISA, MasterCard and American Express. A required deposit (for customers with ISS accounts) is the amount of your production's insurance deductible (see below) or the full value of the rented props, whichever is less.
If you do not have an account with us, you'll need to leave a security deposit in the amount of the full valuation of the props rented, which we will keep if the props are damaged, lost, or destroyed. This can be your choice of a credit card authorization, a check which we will cash, or cash. Security deposits are fully refundable when the props come back on time, undamaged, and otherwise in the same condition as when they left.
PICK UP/DELIVERY/SHIPPING Rented props may be picked up and returned during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Pacific), Monday through Friday. Inquire with your sales associate for special weekend arrangements. We do not usually deliver, but special arrangements can always be made under urgent circumstances. We ship worldwide, via Fed Ex, UPS or counter to counter, if necessary. Shipping incurs extra charges unless billed directly to your carrier account.
